20th Century Studios’ “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” was just another one of those highly anticipated films whose release was delayed by the pandemic. While we didn’t know much about the film, we could expect some down-to-earth humor from the burger joint family that resonates with everyone. And while times are a bit confusing at the moment, it looks like animated film is on its way to make us forget about what’s been going on with a few good laughs.
The first trailer for “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” has finally arrived. Created by Loren Bouchard in 2011, the film is based on the show of the same name. It centers on the Belcher family – Bob (H. Jon Bengamin), his wife Linda (John Roberts), and their children Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman), and Louise (Kristen Schaal) – who run a burger restaurant in a seaside community. Together, the family go on all kinds of epic adventures from getting full-sized candy bars at upscale communities, discovering secrets at abandoned candy factories, and claiming a reduction in rent by participating in a water balloon fight on their landlord’s swanky property. And then there are the annual Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas episodes.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for “The Bob’s Burger’s Movie:”
“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy®-winning series. The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.”
Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis, Kevin Kline, and David Wain also star. And we can probably expect some fan-favorite characters also making a few appearances like valley girl Tammy (Jenny Slate), Belcher family’s taciturn mailman Mike Wobbles (Tim Meadows); Linda’s flighty sister Gayle (Megan Mullally), local dentist Dr. Yap (Ken Jeong), the cantankerous Sgt Bosco (Gary Cole), and many more.
The film’s director is Bernard Derriman and its co-director is Loren Bouchard. The screenplay is by Loren Bouchard & Nora Smith. The producers are Loren Bouchard, Nora Smith and Janelle Momary.
“The Bob’s Burger’s Movie” opens in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2022.
