As the Star Wars universe expands, fans will see more of the galaxy through the eyes of heroes, villains, and “The Bad Batch.” When we last left our former elite clone unit turned tight-knit family of mercenaries, they were on the run from the Empire, who had just destroyed the last place they called home. But Hunter (Dee Bradley Baker), Omega (Michelle Ang), and the rest of the gang escaped their watery grave. Now a newly released trailer is giving us a small glimpse of what life is like while on the run.
Though the first season of “The Bad Batch” was met with relatively mixed reviews, the animated series served as a sequel to Dave Filoni’s “The Clone Wars.” Filling out the gaps between it and “Star Wars Rebels” fans got to see the Star Wars universe just as The Galactic Empire rose to power after the fall of the Republic, while also expanding upon the galaxy through world building through new characters who walk their own path, one that is different from their programing or the fugitive Jedis. Not only that, but they were also reacquainted with some familiar characters like Rex and even some new ones – well, at least to the Clone Wars arc – like Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).
But season 2 brings new dangers to Hunter, Omega, Tech, Crosshair, Wrecker, and Echo, all of whom must use their unique set of skills to survive and help those in need. Think of the A-Team but set in the Star Wars universe. And by the looks of things, with a newly empowered Emperor Palpatine emerging as a force to be reckoned with, The Bad Batch are going to need all the help they can get.
Here’s the brief plot synopsis for “The Bad Batch” season 2:
Months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
