Everyone loves a good birthday party! This year is quite a milestone as Teagan recently turned 2. I can’t believe how much she’s grown and learned in the past 2 years. Birthday party planning can be a blast but can also be STRESSFUL! This year we planned her party at Naya’s Garden in Silverlake. This place rocks! Perfect place for a toddler party (side note: great place for all ages!).
Naya’s has an awesome slide/ball pit, a jumpy house, toys, ride-on vehicles, and a house that looks like the Keebler Elves tree house. Naya’s Garden is a clean and safe place to let your kids run footloose. Even the parents took turns down the slide or climbing up the shapes wall. I love that the party was self contained and that we didn’t have to worry about the mess we made like the previous year. Plus the staff is extremely welcoming and took good care of us all morning.
Our theme: “Yo Gabba Gabba”. The setting at Naya’s definitely is already a great backdrop so we didn’t have to go nuts with party decorations. That allowed me to put all of my creative energy into my biggest goal. My goal? It was to bake a “Brobee” cake. For those of you who are saying, “who’s Brobee?” Brobee is the little green one starring in the TV show Yo Gabba Gabba. My daughter is a HUGE Yo Gabba Gabba fan and I’m sure YGG will become a big part of my blogging. Cooking and baking are not one of my fortes but I thought, why not? This will be fun! I actually made a test cake two weeks prior to the event. I experimented with the shape and colors for the cake with much success! This left me with some new found confidence and the desire to not only bake the cake but cupcakes representing the rest of the YGG crew. Cecy was the greatest helper decorating all of the cupcakes while I put the finishing touches on Mr. Brobbe.
Teagan loved her Brobee birthday cake and the other moms were impressed with the creations. After the party any mention of Brobee or a viewing of the show prompts Teagan to chant “Brobee Cake, Brobee Cake!”
The party seemed to go by very fast. Losts of playing, laughing, chatting and of course a wonderful Happy Birthday sing-a-long! Teagan started to sing along only to find that everyone was actually signing for her. I think she was as choked up as we were! On the way home Teagan passed out in the car. We actually all took well-deserved naps and enjoyed the leftover cake for as long as we could.

Happy Birthday Teagan, apple of my eye! Love, Dada
The Brobee cake was a hit…oh, and so were the cupcakes 😉
I am a huge fan of Yo Gabba Gabba. My 1 year old son has gone crazy for it ever since 6 months old! I am amazed by how many celebrities have done cameos on the show. Brobee rocks!
