Those mischievous yet adorable Minions are loose at Universal Studios Hollywood, and Gru is looking for new recruits to join his Minion army! Our yellow friends, along with Gru and his three girls, are waiting for you to experience the cool 3D Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride! On a recent visit, we checked out the new ride and we think the attraction is impressive!
Minions have literally taken over the park. The bright yellow guys are peaking out at you from every gift shop and there are photo ops with Minions. We got a photo with Kevin who is purple.
Gru’s home is a short walk from the Universal Studios entrance and is a replica of the house from the movie. Once inside, jump in line with other unsuspecting guests to go through Minion training. In the holding area, Gru and his family prepare you for the ride from the video screen and warns to put on glasses only when instructed to do so! Once on the ride, there’s plenty of bananas, suspense and laughs while you dodge Minions on every twist and turn. Tip- try to sit towards the center of the ride for the most optimal experience. Once the journey is complete, guests will enter a room where the kids can get their sillies out at a Minion dance party!
Next, walk on over to Super Silly Fun Land, adjacent to Minion Mayhem, where the kids can stay cool in the splash zone. Then take a ride in the “Silly Swirly Fun Ride” for views of the colorful play zone. Plus, press your luck at a few challenging carnival games. The game Space Killer is a must! Remember when Agnes fell in love with that oh-so-fluffy plush unicorn at the carnival? Now you can take a chance and win one too!
Universal Studios Hollywood was bustling with guests and this is the park for thrilling adventure-film-themed rides! Transformers: The Ride-3D is a blast! I highly recommend it. Also, my daughter loves The Simpsons Ride. Definitely make time for the Studio Tour because you never know who’ll you will see walking around the park. We bumped into Shaggy and Scooby!
