California Adventure invites guests to take an exhilarating tour on the all-new motion simulated attraction, Soarin’ Around The World! Soarin’ Over California was always one of our “must-see” options on our trips to California Adventure. I loved zipping over citrus fields while getting a blast of orange scent. I actually have a fear of flying (I still fly) but I managed to buckle myself into a seat before being lifted off the ground in front of a 80-foot projection screen! We will miss the original Soarin’ film but look forward to new sites and smells!
Watching the new film was thrilling! The realistic movements have us sweeping over terrains that are on my world-wide bucket travel list. One of the locations I’ve actually visited, Neuschwanstein Castle in southwest Bavaria, Germany, brought back fun memories that I took with my then boyfriend (now husband) many years ago. Another great stop was over the Great Wall of China which brings to mind the newest Disney Park- Shanghai Disney. Other Soarin’ sites include Eiffel Tower, Iguazu Falls, Egyptian Pyramids and other famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal.
I read that the filming process took over a year to capture all the beauty using a sophisticated process to give viewers a realistic journey around the world! I also read that the score was written by Bruce Broughton (he scored Roger Rabbit) and recorded by the London Studio Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios!
Soarin’ is still in its original location (Goldenstate section) so head on over to grab a FASTPASS to cut down on your wait time (FASTPASS distribution is to the left of the entrance). We loved it so much we went on twice!! Oh, and Patrick Warburton fans will still see him in the pre-flight video in the boarding area. Soarin’ Around The World is also featured at Epcot.
