Pick IT for Mom: Slovly Children’s Illustrations Review & Giveaway

There are few things a Mom loves more than her kids.  I came across Slovly and it instantly struck my heart. Sure, these weren’t my kids she had illustrated, but I was drawn in to the interactions of the children she painted.  From their sweet faces to the way that she captures the relationship between siblings or even the personality of the individual child is….special.

Slovly produced this custom piece of Kieran and Brendan for the review.  It comes on a heavyweight cardstock and the colors a bit more vibrant than they are showing up on my computer screen.   I told the artist that “Kieran loves her baby brother and is very protective of him”.  I think she captured their relationship perfectly and my heart melts a little each time I look at it.  When I showed it to Kieran, she immediately knew that it was a painting of her and her baby brother and remarked, “Awwwww, it’s so CUTE!”.  Exactly.

Slovly's Crescent Roll Babies

I think a great, unique gift are Slovly’s Crescent Roll Babies.  These sweet, swaddled newborn watercolors are perfect for first-time moms or a baby shower present.  And, since they are commissioned works of art, each is one-of-a-kind!  Slovly also produces ACEO’s, which stands for ‘Art Cards, Editions and Originals’.  These are miniature pieces of art that measure 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  A small piece of art must have these measurements to qualify as an ACEO.  You can view some of Slovly’s ACEO’s here.  She even has works of art up based on the Hunger Games trilogy (of which, I am a huge fan!).

About the Artist

Sabrina Vincent is the artist behind Slovly.  As a child she always loved to draw.  After college she was very blessed to become busy with what she is most passionate about–having a family!  It wasn’t until about four years ago that her husband told her that he really felt that she needed to be painting again.  It’s obvious from her illustrations that she is greatly inspired by her children and children in general.  She loves how most humor coming from a child is not intended.  She is also inspired by her children (she has 4!) in that when she started painting again, she knew that it would be setting a good example for them.  She believes it is very important that they see her working hard and enjoying something she loves outside of her motherhood roles.  She also believes that as women we have a need to be creative in some form, any form.  As it turns out, working on her little watercolors is what appeases that creative need in her.
