Scooby Doo has been solving mysteries for generations. But one mystery that has yet to be solved is how did Scooby and Shaggy become friends.
The details surrounding that story will be revealed in the newest version of the Mystery Inc. legacy in “Scoob!” set for release in May 2020.
The new trailer for “Scoob!” is already out. In it, Scooby and Shaggy meet for the first time and their unbreakable friendship begins.
It might be the greatest mystery in the history of animated ancestry.
Not only do the roots of Scooby and Shaggy’s friendship unfold, but also the seeds of the Mystery Inc. team, Fred, Velma and Daphne, are planted.
In what is described as the first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure, Mystery Inc. tackles the ghost dog Cerberus and tries to save the world from the “dogpocalypse.” Many more mysteries surrounding Scooby’s legacy are revealed as he and his friends battle Cerberus.
The cast is full of some well-known names. Zac Efron voices Fred, Will Forte voices Shaggy, Ken Jeong as Dynomutt, Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman and Mark Wahlberg as Blue Falcon.
Kiersey Clemons as Dee Dee, Jason Isaacs as Dick Dastardly, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne and Frank Welker as Scooby are also featurred in the film, directed by Tony Cervone, Annie Award nominee for the feature “Space Jam” and two-time Emmy nominee for his work on “Duck Dodgers.”
The movie, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, is set for release May 15.
As part of the promotion, Warner Bros. launched scoobselfie.com, an augmented camera that allows fans to create custom images through an Instagram, Facebook and Snap interactive lens. With the lens, images can be created with Scoob licking faces or sitting on the shoulders of fans. There is even a feature that lets people play fetch with Scooby.
