“Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie” Trailer: Ninjas, Time Travel, and Alien Brains
Netflix has released the newest trailer for “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie,” which features our favorite band of heroes in a half shell defending Earth from a familiar brainy villain alien race called The Krang.
The trailer teases a time-travelling Casey Jones going to the past to warn the Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo about the impending threat of the Krang invasion. Their mission is to steal a key from the Foot Clan, and prevent them from opening a door to another dimension that would let the Krang in. Unfortunately, the team fails, and as such, they lose their mystic powers. So, they will have to learn how to work together without relying on the aid of mysticism in order to defeat the Krang.
Directed by Ant Ward and Andy Suriano, the latter of whom worked on the character designs, “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie” features the voice talents of Ben Schwartz, Omar Miller, Brandon Mychal Smith, Josh Brener as Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello respectively.
Kat Graham and Eric Bauza also return as news reporter April O’Neil and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sensi Splinter, respectively. Haley Joel Osment, Rhys Darby, and John Michael Higgins have roles, but their characters have yet to be revealed.
While the show itself ended its run in 2020, the film serves as a continuation of this iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ story. A new film that’s separate from this one, produced by Seth Rogen, is expected to hit in 2023.
“Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie” is set to premiere on Netflix on August 5.
