Back to school shopping is in full swing, despite the protests coming from kids across the country. As we all head out to our local chain stores for backpacks, every school supply under the sun, the perfect first day outfits, and the coolest lunchboxes we can find, consider what we can do as parents to show our kids that being economical as well as environmentally friendly is a great way to start the school year off on the right foot. At our house, we make our lunches every day (except pizza Friday!) and we’ve decided to use as few disposible products as possible this year. I’ve got lots of little containers to hold various lunch components, but stumbled upon a fabulous company that is sure to change the way we build our lunches each day. The EasyLunchbox system is a perfectly portioned three-compartment container that gives you plenty of room for a sandwich, fruit and snack, and the container lid is designed to be just loose enough that little fingers can take it off easily. FYI – these containers are not leakproof – so it’s best to make sure they’re backed upright, not tilted! The containers are BPA, PVA, phthalate, lead and vinyl free, FDA Approved, dishwasher and microwave safe and at only $13.95 for a set of four containers, a best bet if you’re trying to reduce your footprint this year. The containers and covers all stack neatly in cabinets, and we love the bright, colorful covers. They fit perfectly inside the EasyLunchbox cooler ($7.95) – which is available in seven different colors, comes with a heavy-duty strap and is machine washable.
I’ll admit that heading to the deli case at the grocery store and grabbing the premade lunch kits is an easy way to get the kids off to school, but when you consider the junk that’s found in them, never mind the ridiculous price for a few slices of meat, cheese and a few crackers, the EasyLunchbox is going to pay for itself in the first month of school.
On of the best parts this product is their website – http://www.easylunchboxes.com/ – because it’s filled with fantastic ideas for lunches, has great lunch packing tips and links, videos starring super-mom & EasyLunchbox creator, Kelly Lester, and ideas for ways to personalize the cooler.
So, join the take-your-lunch-to-school, or work, or on a picnic, or to the zoo, or where ever your travels may take you-revolution, because EasyLunchbox will help guide you with perfect portions for everyone in your family!
EasyLunchboxes can be purchased directly from their website or at http://www.amazon.com/
