Orange County is a great family destination. Whether you are headed to Disneyland, the Orange Outlets for some shopping or the best surf beaches in the USA — I recommend considering a night at the brand new Ayres Hotel Orange. It just opened in August and my family had the opportunity to check it out, so we could share it with you.
With it’s relaxed European style and fresh cookies in the lobby, it offers something for everyone in your family. The expansive lobby with it’s inviting fireplace and velour upholstery welcomes you upon arrival and the staff does a great job catering to guest’s individual needs.
The Ayres Orange has 136 deluxe guest rooms and 3 suites. We were booked in a King suite. It was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated with mahogany furniture, the room included a sitting area, microwave, refrigerator. Our room had a stand up shower and separate sink. Those with kids needing a bathtub should let them know upon check in. Our bed, a signature Ayres Dream Sleeper mattress, was firm and probably needs to broken in some more, but there plenty of fluffy, comfortable pillows (a must for me.) The room had a great 32 inch flat screen TV and USB plugs in the wall outlets (another must for this blogger!) I was a big fan of little details such as the flowers in the room – a really nice touch. Our suite also had a private balcony that overlooked the outdoor seating area and pool. The pool closes at 10 pm, so we did hear some noise.
Complimentary amenities included a daily, full American buffet breakfast (waffles, omelets, and pancakes…yum), parking and WiFi. Also included was pool (unheated, so be prepared during cooler months), gym and hot tub access. Check out is at noon so we had plenty of time for breakfast and visiting some of the amenities.
The hotel takes green measures, such as low flow shower heads and a linen changing program. The rooms have key card systems that automatically ensure the power is only used when guests are in the rooms. Please note that the hotel does have pet friendly rooms, but they ask that you notify them by phone at 714-978-9168 if you plan to bring a pet to the hotel.
Located right off I-5 on 3737 W. Chapman, Orange, CA, right across the street from the UC Irvine Medical Center, the Ayres Orange is really easy to reach, and super convenient for families planning to visit Disney. It’s easy to pick up the Anaheim Resort Transit shuttle (ART) near the hotel. The shuttle runs every half hour and a full day pass is $5 for adults and $2 per child. There are stops all over Anaheim including the Anaheim Convention Center and Downtown Disney.
The hotel recommends making direct reservations 21 days in advance to secure the best rates. To book, visit their website at http://www.ayreshotels.com/orange-county/orange-lodging.aspx or call 800-268-7946.
