Review: AnyBook Reader

Looking for an original gift for that special child in your life?  Try the Franklin AnyBook Reader. This is a system that allows you to read and record books you already own with your voice for your children.

Franklin sent us one to try out and I have to say that I was instantly impressed.  The reader looks like a standard reader but the top is a microphone so you can record your voice. It was so easy to do.  You pick a book, put the included stickers, which are removable and reusable, on each page. Using the reader you activate the unique sticker code and read the text from that page. It is that simple.

You can make up the voices and sounds just the way your child likes.  We all recorded a  different book for Adeline. She was easily able to sit down and listen to “us” read to her.  It is such a great way for kids to hear their favorite stories from their favorite people even if they aren’t there!  Adeline’s grandparents live too far away to read her stories but the AnyReader will allow them to record books for Adeline to listen to whenever she wants.

The AnyReader can record up to 60 hours and comes with over 400 ready-to-record stickers. Also included are 2 pages of decorative stickers with pre-recorded sounds (these can’t be recorded over), as well as stickers with pictures of mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, brother, and sister.

The reader requires 2 AAA batteries which aren’t included and retails for $59.99.  You can also purchase additional stickers in packs of 200.  This is such a unique gift and it would be so great to be able record books and give them as a gift with the reader to your favorite child.
