Ralph my have done plenty of wrecking in his Wreck-It Ralph arcade, and movie, but now the character is going to take his destructive programming to the internet. And it won’t be to just pound and smash things into the dust.
The newest trailer for Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has just dropped online, and it takes the title character (voiced by John C. Reilly) and his mischievous friend and racer, Vanellope von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman) to the internet. What could go wrong?
Well, when you are a trouble making pair, quite a lot actually. And opening the doors to the internet via Wifi, or Wiffy or Wifey as Ralph would put it, could cause a lot of problems all over the world. Especially when the two stumble upon a simple child’s game and ruin their innocence by over feeding a bunny with one too many pancakes.
The sequel will also feature the voice of Taraji P. Henson as Yesss, yes there are three sss in her name. The character is actually an internet algorithm, who is the heart and soul of the trend-making site Buzztube.
As you may notice by these names, you can guess there are a lot of Internet pop culture influences. And there is plenty to notice in the actual trailer as well. Sites from Amazon and YouTube Red to Ebay and Cisco make an appearance. Nods to those annoying click bait articles will also pop up.
It should be interesting to see how our two favorite Disney characters find and get themselves out of trouble, especially when they are in a new world as vast and endless as the Internet, which is full of so many distracting things your head will spin.
Here’s the sequel’s official synopsis:
