The Starlight Children’s Foundation hosted their “Dream Halloween” event in Los Angeles at The Park Plaza on October 22. Sponsors of the event provided complimentary passes to attend the party for kids and their families who are supported by area hospitals. And what a party it was! Fabulous performers, delicious food from various local restaurants, fun crafts provided by Michaels Stores and a massive Nintendo gaming suite made it a memorable evening for everyone!
Thanks to Nintendo for inviting my family to the event. We had a blast getting our game on at their Mario Party Star Rush experience featuring photo opps with Mario, gaming opportunities and prizes! Nintendo dared guests to participate in a family-friendly competition of the Star Rush game. I went head-to-head with my family and (I don’t mean to brag but) I won! Yes, all of those years of my youth locked up in my room playing Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong has finally paid off. Wee-hee!
Nintendo’s Mario Party Star Rush is available for the Nintendo 3DS starting Nov. 4. Kids of all ages can play rapid-fire minigames in Coinathalon mode where players can explore, race and party! Transform into Mario characters like Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Toadette, and Yoshi during various modes. Princess Rosalina helped me defeat my opponents. I love that the Mario world includes princesses to select from. Princesses can play video games, too! And kick butt at it!
Getting a sneak peek of the game was one of many highlights but my favorite part of the night was seeing all the little ones dressed for Halloween in their spookiest, craziest and festive best!
