I’ve been a fan of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler for years. I think many of us grew up watching Drew as a child in movies such as E.T., Irreconcilable Differences, and then as an adult in film’s like Charlie’s Angels and Fever Pitch. Adam Sandler was hysterical on SNL especially as the classic Opera Man! I think some of their best film moments were when they starred together in the movies, Wedding Singer and 50 Blind Dates. It’s been 10 years since their last movie together and they are finally reunited in Blended. I didn’t even think twice when I was invited to participate in the Blended event courtesy of Warner Brothers. Meet Drew and Adam? Yes, please!
My “Blended” day consisted of a screening, beauty treatments and a Q&A with the stars of the movie. Our morning started off at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood where we screened the romantic comedy. In the film, we meet two single parents Lauren (Drew) and Jim (Adam) who are set up on a disastrous blind date. Through an interesting turn of events they wind up on a vacation resort together in South Africa and are forced to spend time with each others families. I don’t want to say too much but I liked it! Blended is really funny and the actors have wonderful chemistry – Drew and Adam are just meant to be together!
We then moved on to the Lowes Hollywood Hotel where the bloggers were treated to lunch, hair styles and makeup. The stylists at the hair station where from Salon Benjamin in West Hollywood. Stylist Natalie Paz, gave me a funky braid. She also taught me how to do a fishtail braid. I’m proud to say that I’ve successfully styled my daughter in a fishtail since the event. Many bloggers had their makeup done and they looked beautiful! We all received goody bags which included makeup from Drew’s line, Flowers. I LOVE, LOVE the line! The colors are lovely and the products are never test on animals.
Warner Brothers had a flash giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners! I won a prize pack of four DVDs. I can’t wait to see Gravity now! The last part of the day was the most anticipated where we had an exclusive Q & A with Drew, Adam and Wendi McLendon-Covey who plays Lauren’s ever-so-supportive best friend Jen. Drew just lit up the room when she walked in. She is everything I expected her to be, beautiful, sweet, personable and I loved her lipstick color! I’m not sure what I expected Adam to be like but he was actually really laid back and just a really nice person. I asked him how he could be a Yankees fan growing up in New England? He responded, “NY first.” Ok, so I respect that he never forgot his NY roots.
Stay tuned to our second portion of my Blended coverage where I share what Drew, Adam and Wendi had to say about their new film and each other! Make sure to check out the awesome Blended prize back on our site.
The film is rated PG-13 and has laughs, mild romance and cursing (in case you are considering taking your children). Find Blended in theaters on May 23.
