Old Navy is a long time favorite shopping destination of mine. I clearly remember when the first store opened in my area way back in 1994, the year my first daughter was born. I instantly fell in love with the styles especially the baby fashions. Not only were they amazingly stylish, they were also amazingly affordable. For the past 18 years Old Navy has been my go-to store for the entire family.
I was recently given the chance to participate in an Old Navy Blogger Fashion Show at the Middlesex Commons in Burlington, MA. My 5 year old daughter and I were super excited to walk the runway modeling items from Old Navy’s Spring 2013 Dress Collection. I was also excited to hang with fabulous local bloggers and their kiddos.
The day of the Fashion Show we were ushered backstage (the employee break room) and greeted with a nice spread of cheese, crackers and fresh fruit from The Chateu. We were given our outfits and instructed on the lineup. I was wearing a lightweight denim shirt dress paired with silver flats and super cute dangly red and silver earrings with matching necklace. Adeline was adorable in her blue and white gingham dress paired with a denim jacket and sparkly gem sandals. She was also sporting a red bracelet that coordinated with my jewelry.
Everyone was perfectly outfitted and ready for the show. Just as it was our turn Adeline refused to move. Nope. Not going anywhere. OMG! I was mortified. I felt myself turning red and ready to start hyperventilating! BUT I have watched enough episodes of America’s Top Model to know the show must go on. I picked up my 45 lb stubborn cutie and walked the runway with her. She kept her head on my shoulder the entire time and the crowd missed out on how darn cute she looked but we did it!
The other moms and their kids were amazing!! They were pros. Other than feeling a bit embarrassed, the day was pretty awesome. I saw some friendly familiar faces and met some new, plus got a little shopping in while we were there. How could I not buy the outfits we were wearing? And the accessories! Have you checked out Old Navy’s accessories lately? I can’t get enough of them. The earrings, necklaces, bracelets and hair embellishments are trendy and perfectly priced! Perfect accessories to complete your look.
