Now that we are past episode three of “Loki” that means it is time for the obligatory mid-season trailer for Disney+’s latest Marvel series. Though most of the trailer is more of a recap than a tease for the remaining episodes of the season, we see that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) avoid dying during an apocalypse on the moon of Lamentis-1 as they are arrested by the TVA. But it appears that they consider Sylvie more of a threat than Loki as she gets a bigger security escort than Loki, who is clearly insulted by the lack of guards.
One thing of interest though is the tease of a child Loki with darker hair. Though it’s not clear if its either of the tricksters that we know now or an entirely new Loki. Also seen is the USS Eldridge crashing down on land, Loki and Sylvie running away from falling meteors, and Mobius (Owen Wilson) telling Loki: “I believe, stupidly, you can be whatever you want to be, even someone good.”
Things are even more unclear as we see him don his Asgardian robes once more as he stands in front of a thrown with green flags behind him. And as a final tease, we see the God of Mischief in TVA attire raise a dagger towards the sky. Of course, it would help if there was just a little bit more context so we could know what is going on, but that would be spoiling all of the fun.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.
Currently, three episodes of the series are available on Disney+, with the final three episodes set to air on the next three Wednesdays.
