Hollywood Blvd was a kaleidoscope of color during the Inside Out World Premiere! Disney-Pixar’s latest film Inside Out is all about our childhood emotions and they nailed it! The festivities during the premiere were pure ‘JOY’. The only sad face on the purple carpet was Sadness but heck… that’s her job!
Every red carpet experience is unique- I feel like a VIP member, mingling with celebrities while dressed in my best! Guests were greeted by a towering Inside Out structure; the gateway to fun!!
My outfit.
I have to admit, buying a dress is challenging. I bought a dress at H&M for $14.95! I usually wear black, but with the help of my friend Yolanda Machado, I decided on a simple green dress. I was out of my element – I’m not used to wearing bold, bright colors but I paid homage to “Disgust”. I’m a big fan of Mindy Kaling, so green was the way to go! Plus, I’m a huge fan of Kermit the Frog. It’s not easy being green!! My sandals were also green so I decided to break up the solid color with a colorful necklace! For this event, I did my hair and makeup (which is fine because my makeup melted off my face). The temps were in the 90s!!!
Purple carpet.
The carpet was lined with photographers and news outlets from all over the world, all of whom were eagerly awaiting the stars from the film as well as other celebs who came out to support the film. What’s really exciting are the fans. They are cheering and shouting to their favorites, hoping for an autograph. The creator of the short film LAVA (which opens before Inside Out), ran over to say hi!
Celebs.
This part is really fun. I love spotting all the stars during the event. You never know who you’ll see! One of my favorite bands growing up was The Police. There was no way the drummer would walk by me unnoticed! I was a total fan girl when I met Stewart Copeland. Another joyful surprise was meeting Billy Crystal. In case you don’t know, he voiced Monster’s Inc. and Monster’s University’s Mike Wazowski. If you look closely enough, Mike is on Billy’s baseball cap!
Food.
The food is always fabulous, but I ran to the stunning dessert table! These cakes and cupcakes were the creation of Fernanda Abarca Cakes and were eye-popping! Not only did these sugary delights look fantastic, they were scrumptious!!
Activities.
Pre-parties are a blast! Guests are treated to fun activities — this carpet had booths set up inspired by scenes in the film — paint your family tree at Family Island or dare not to tell a lie, while wearing a colander on your head at Honesty Island. My favorite was the memory booth. My friends and I created a fun flip book to take home.
The pre-party/red carpet goes by so fast! Guests are ushered into the theater just as the entire film cast round up for a group photo before the carpet is shut down. Everyone took their seats at the El Capitan Theatre. We laughed, cried and cheered together — laughter is infectious and there are magnificent lines in this film that will have you laughing out loud.
* I participated in an all-expense trip hosted by Disney, Disney Channel and Disney XD. My opinions are my own.
