Disney+ has been home to some of our favorite nostalgia, and their library has only grown since they acquired 20th Century Fox – now 20th Century Studios. So, it only makes sense that they put out some reboots of classic family friendly films. One of those constant undeniable favorites that serves as a must watch during the holidays is “Home Alone.” “Home Sweet Home Alone” is a modernized take on the 1990 Macaulay Culkin-starring vehicle.
In this new reimagining, Archie Yates plays a mischievous and resourceful Max, the young boy who gets left home alone as the family spends Christmas in Japan. While Max’s mother and father do all they can to get back home, a married couple, played by Ellie Kemper (“The Office,” “Bridesmaids,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) and Rob Delaney (“Catastrophe,” “Deadpool 2,” “Wrath of Man”), are hellbent on retrieving a priceless heirloom. Unfortunately, they have to get passed Max to do it. And since this is a “Home Alone” movie, you can expect all sorts of hilarious hijinks, along with some cameos and familiar musical cues and pieces of dialogue from the original.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for “Home Sweet Home Alone:”
