As you know, I’ve been sharing The Muppets news for the past couple of weeks. And believe it or not, there’s even more to share! Hollywood’s legendary El Capital Theatre is celebrating The Muppets from November 23, 2011 through January 8, 2012! I highly recommend seeing the film at the El Capital Theatre in Hollywood. As a kid I never thought I would get to sit in the theater that is the actual Muppet Theater in the movie!
Starting November 23, El Capitan Theatre offers fun for the entire family. Plus, before every screening, enjoy a special holiday sing-a-long with Kermit and Miss Piggy LIVE on the El Capitan stage! Make sure you travel down to the lower level of the theater. Muppet fans can view Miss Piggy’s wardrobe and oil paintings from the movie. Kermit’s office and Missy’s Piggy’s dressing room are also on display. What a treat! My daughter loved seeing the extra long “contract” on Kermit’s desk and she wanted to know why he had so many banjos!
On select days, El Capitan guests may also enjoy “Disney’s Most Sensational Muppet Party!” before or after the movie at Disney’s Soda Fountain & Studio Store. This one-of-a-kind party features “Wocka-Wocka-Wocka” fun for everyone, with finger sandwiches, fruit salad, cupcake decorating and a special gift and commemorative photo provided by Kodak for every guest! Seating is limited and reservations are required.
We had a chance to experience “Disney’s Most Sensational Muppet Party!” The party was the perfect addition to viewing The Muppets. The designated area is intimate which gave us a VIP feeling. The staff was extremely nice and made us feel extremely comfortable. The menu items were tasty and perfect for families. I don’t know too many kids who can turn down a delish PB&J sandwich! There are other yummy sandwiches for the adults too! The dessert is an undressed cupcake from Frosted Cupcakery (located on Highland and Lexington Aves). Families can decorate the cupcakes at the party or wait until you get home. YUM! Families also get to take home a Kodak commemorative photo and souvenirs. My daughter’s thoughts, “I want to attend another Muppet Party!” Well, I think that sums it up.
We plan to see the movie again and visit The El Capitan Theatre when they host a special “Tiny Tot Tuesday” on November 29, at 10:45 a.m. During this special screening of Disney’s “The Muppets” parents and small children can enjoy the movie in a “Tiny Tot” friendly way—complete with lights dimmed rather than out and reduced sound levels!
Daily show times are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110. Show times subject to change.
Wocka-Wocka!
