Giveaway & Review: DVD Debut of “Dino Dan – Dino Trackers!”

Did you know…a Brachiosaurus could live up to one hundred years  …a Corythosaurus dinosaur had a large protective plate on top of its head? …or that a Spinosaurus had bony rods on its back that held up a “sail” made of skin? “Dino Dan – Dino Trackers,” the premiere title in a brand new DVD series from NCircle Entertainment, made its debut on December 27, priced at $12.99 suggested retail.

My kids are I were introduced to Dino Dan while rainy day, channel surfing Nick Jr. for a show that would entertain a three year old boy and a five year old girl.  Dino Dan is a great mix of dinosaur factoids, funny grammar school banter and mystery/adventure as the hero needs to solve a dinosaur-related problem.

The “Dino Trackers” DVD contains five adventure stories featuring Dino Dan (Jason Spevack), a 10 year old boy who imagines there are real dinosaurs living all around him – but only he can see them. The series was developed under the guidance of paleontologists at Canada’s Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta, and the Museum’s Curator of Dinosaurs, Dr. Don Henderson, is both the lead consultant on the show and an inspiration for its main character.

DVD Synopsis — Follow Dan as he plays a game of chess with his prehistoric pals, learns how dinosaurs got their names, and find out that some herbivores are able to defend themselves against predators. The five episodes are “Name-A-Saurus,” “To Flee or Not to Flee,” “There’s a Compsognathus Under My Bed,” “Dino Trackers,” and “Mino-Dino.” Including the bonus features, the DVD has a total running time of 60 minutes.
