The 2025 Golden Globes honored the best in film and television. Netflix’s “Emilia Perez led the way with the most nomnations on the film side of things with a total of ten, while Shogun led on the TV side of things.
“Emilia Pérez” was the night’s biggest winner taking the awards for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language, Best Original Song – Motion Picture, and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture – Zoe Saldana.
“The Brutalist” won three awards, one for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Adrian Brody for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, and Brady Corbet for Best Director. Multiple-nominated Wicked earned the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Zoe Saldana, Demi Moore, and Fernanda Torres won their first Golden Globe of their careers for their performances in Netflix’s “Emilia Pérez,” “The Substance,” and “I’m Still Here” respectively.
On the TV side of things, Shogun’s Anna Sawai won her first Golden Globe. Shogun’s Tadanobu Asano and Hiroyuki Sanada also won awards for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Performance by a Male Actor, respectively, and Best Television Series – Drama. HBO’s Hacks also won multiple awards for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and Jean Smart took home the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” a dark comedy about a comedian and his crazy stalker, took two awards with Jessica Gunning taking Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television, and the series itself winning Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made For Television.
