It’s time to make the Donuts Los Angeles! An East Coast institution has arrived to SoCal. Santa Monica is the lucky city to be the first location to host the first full-service Dunkin’ Donuts in Southern California. Dunkin’ Donuts is now open for business from 5am – 11pm at 1132 Wilshire Blvd on the corner of 12th Street. I attended the grand opening it was a wicked surreal experience! I’m a Boston transplant and have been waiting for this moment. The first thing that stood out to me when I entered the restaurant? The smell! DD has a distinctive sweet smell and the aroma was all too familiar!
Hundreds of enthusiastic people lined up to be a part of this celebration and to order their favorite DD items. Some fans even camped out! The first person in line arrived 2 days prior to the opening and won a year’s supply of coffee! Now that’s dedication fanboy!
Walt Henry, Director of Field Marketing at Dunkin’ Brands, Weldon Spangler, Vice President of Operations, US & Canada at Dunkin’ Brand as well as Santa Monica Mayor Pam O’ Connor attended the exciting ribbon cutting along with the best mascot ever, Cuppy! Officials announced that that there will be four locations in SoCal by the end of 2014. Look for DD stores in Santa Monica, Modesto, Long Beach and Whittier! Fans can also look forward to 250-300 locations to pop up over the next few years!
Are you new to DD? I highly recommend the Munchkins (especially the glazed) and my husband loves the crullers and Hazelnut ice coffee! Congrats to Dunkin Donuts!!!
