True as it can be, Disneyland Resort is bringing the magic of Beauty and the Beast to their guests – just in time for the release of Disney’s latest live-action remake. I was invited to Disney California Adventure for an exclusive sneak peek of the film. I was one of the lucky guests who attended the noon showing of the sneak peek at Sunset Showcase Theater. Little did we know that “Beauty and the Beast” star Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) made a surprise appearance! He briefly talked about the film and announced that everyone in the theater would receive a ticket to see “Beauty and the Beast” before it’s release date of March 17! How’s that for a magical moment?
Disneyland Resort has created ways for you to create new discoveries at the park, and have your own “Beauty and the Beast moments” throughout your visit.
Red Rose Tavern is a Beauty and the Beast themed-up pop-up shop inside Disneyland Park. The Village Haus Restaurant has been transformed into a French tavern inspired by this classic film with new food items, including the Enchanted Cauliflower Sandwich, Garden Mozzarella Flatbread (I recommend it), and of course the Grey Stuff Gateau!! Lumiere shared a tip, “Try the Grey Stuff, it’s delicious!” And IT IS! Disneyland’s version is a white chocolate mouse with red velvet cake and a sweet surprise stacked on top of a Shortbread Cookie. LOVE IT! The Grey Stuff here is different from what you’d find at Disney World but just as tasty.
Royal Reception is adjacent to the Red Rose Tavern with special merchandise to take home. I really like this Stained Glass Window.
You might run into Gaston as he parades around the Fantasyland area. Don’t let his good looks fool you – he’s truly a villain! I wonder what his back story is? He’s so vain! You might even get a glimpse of Belle!
Still craving sweets? Head over to Maurice’s Treats in Fantasy Faire, where new offerings of yummy dipping sauces are dedicated to Beauty and The Beast. Guests can order special sauces to enjoy with their snacks. Need more Grey Stuff? They carry the deliciousness here.
The Royal Theatre Presents, “Beauty and the Beast”. A comical performance of the classic tale told by the duo Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones. This might be a good place to find a seat and give your feet a rest!
Now through March 26, guests can attend the Beauty and the Beast: Sneak Peek at the Sunset Showcase theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure. It’s a glorious 3D adventure!
