Up until about a month ago the only protection I used on my iPhone was a thin removable skin. The design of the skin was beautiful and I never dropped my phone in the 1.5 years I owned the phone and skin. That all changed when I dropped my phone over and over and over…
I turned to Case-mate’s Tough Case for support. Case-mate carries a variety of cases for mobile devices as well as tablets at www.casemate.com. I’m a graphic artist so naturally I’m attracted to design and color but my parenting instincts kicked when I found out that Case-mate carried Yo Gabba Gabba designs! We’re a Yo Gabba Gabba family and I knew that my daughter would love the case.
My phone is now wearing the The Tough Case featuring the YGG Crew design. The case has two layers, a silicone skin and a hard plastic outer shell. I didn’t have a problem applying the two pieces. So far I haven’t had any issues accessing the volume buttons or charging my phone. I’ve had to get used to the thickness of the case. My removable skin allowed the phone to slip in just about any pants or purse pocket BUT I did tend to lose my phone more when it had the skin. With the Case-mate my phone stands out more in my endless black hole that is my purse. The only real “con” is that I didn’t use the included screen protector. The directions show how to remove bubbles with the soft applicator card but the bubbles wouldn’t budge!
I’m happy with the Tough Case. The case is cute, functional and I like the extra layer of protection. The Tough Case for iPhone 3G is $39.99.
