I love the nostalgia of a metal lunchbox. And whenever I can review something that is not mainstream character-related, I jump at the chance. Kieran gets enough of that on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes, all you need is a monkey, you know? We were lucky enough to review a metal lunchbox from Jack Rabbit Creations-their “Monkey Mania” design. It features a different design on each side. My daughter loves the monkeys, and has more fun than you would think toting that pail around. Even my husband has commented that it brings back good childhood memories watching Kieran carry the lunchbox around.
She carries it all over the place, preschool or not. It’s been a great tool for letting her assert her independence–she enjoys the freedom of going in to get her snacks several times throughout the day!
We tested out the lunchbox at the playground on a nice day. It was a bit on the warm side, so we put in an icepack, 2 juice boxes, and some snacks. It was on the heavy side, but the lunch box held up! Kieran is pretty easy on her stuff, so this gender-neutral lunchbox will probably be passed down to her brother, too.
For those looking for a more traditional lunchbox, I highly recommend you check out Jack Rabbit Creations. It retails for $12.00 and includes a 100-page “Notes from Home” notepad (suggestion: “Mommy loves you!”).
Also very important, is that Jack Rabbit Creations assures the safety of their toys. In there words, “We are parents, too!”. All of their toys meet US safety standards. They are tested in certified, independent labs to make sure their design standards have been upheld. These tests include toxic elements analysis (including lead), mechanical push/pull tests, drop tests, flammability tests and others depending upon the product. They label all of our their toys with the appropriate age of play, and their quality assurance program is ongoing.

What an adorable lunchbox! Thanks for the review!
I agree, it’s nice to get away from mainstream characters every once in a while. These look so cute!
Oh I love this lunchbox! It reminds me of the ones I used to have when I was a little girl. I miss those kind of lunchboxes. My kids are older and rather not carry a lunchbox if they can get away with it. They rather stuff things in their backpacks. Sigh…
I checked out the site. Great site! They have so many adorable toys and other fun things for kids.
Thanks for the great review.
It’s always amazing how the little things in life are the ones the children have the most fun with! Very cute lunch box, I love the monkeys too!

My boys just told me the other day that they wanted a lunch box. Those remind me of my school aged years. Thanks for sharing.
