Hollywood Forever is bringing an extraordinary mix of art, culture and tradition to Los Angeles on Saturday, October 24, as its 27th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration returns with an expanded lineup of cultural experiences for “All Under One Sky / Bajo un Mismo Cielo.” From a historic mausoleum transformed into a contemporary art gallery to a vibrant new stage dedicated to theater and cinema, nearly 300 folklórico and Aztec dancers, over 70 elaborate community-created altars and ofrendas, and spectacular altar and costume competitions, this year’s celebration promises an unforgettable day of remembrance, creativity and community.

The celebration will bring the historic grounds to life with traditional dance, colorful cultural performances and the ceremonial procession, honoring Mexican heritage and the enduring connections between generations.
Inside the historic Cathedral Mausoleum, the one-day exhibition Bajo un Mismo Cielo, curated by Los Angeles artist and educator Nery Gabriel Lemus, transforms a nearly century-old space into a living gallery. Featuring 12 multigenerational artists, the exhibition explores memory, identity, ancestry and belonging through contemporary works that bridge past and present. Participating artists include Jackie Amézquita, William Camargo, Danie Cansino, Carolyn Castaño, Harry Gamboa Jr., Daniela Garcia Hamilton, Narciso Martinez, Lola Moreno, Noé Olivas, Jose Guadalupe Sanchez III, Lorenzo Urtado Segovia and Jacqueline Valenzuela.
El Cine + El Teatro brings The People’s Stage to Hollywood Forever, offering bilingual theater, puppetry, interactive performances and family activities under the live direction of Mariana Da Silva. With a visual concept by artist Willie Herrón, co-founder of ASCO, the pioneering Chicano art collective from East Los Angeles, the program includes a live recreation of one of the collective’s iconic costume promenades before transforming into an outdoor cinema featuring Mexican classics in partnership with the Guadalajara Film Festival in Los Angeles (GLAFF).
The celebration also offers family experiences at the Children’s Plaza, featuring bilingual books and storytelling from Lil’ Libros and cultural programming from LA Opera Connects, LA Opera’s community engagement and education initiative.
The expanded cultural program joins a full day of live music headlined by DannyLux, alongside Trish Toledo, Tropa Mágica, Los Shadows and DJs Que Madre, JOAQU.N and Dro Barlo. Visitors can also discover artisan and culinary vendors and enjoy cultural experiences throughout the grounds. Toyota, the event’s title sponsor, will present an activation featuring Latino entrepreneurs and honoring the legacy, dreams, and ambition passed on through generations. The celebration will also feature a drone show, with Espolòn Tequila joining as an event sponsor.
Together, these experiences capture the spirit of “All Under One Sky / Bajo un Mismo Cielo,” celebrating the power of art, memory and tradition to connect people across cultures, borders and generations.
