I’m a bit behind on posting my CES picks, so I am combining the 2nd and 3rd days in this post.
There is no way you can see everything on the show floor, meet with people and attend events all in the 4 days of CES. Plus eat, write, sleep, try to catch up with folks that I only see during CES and hang out with my travel companions. Which is what I tried to do and literally passed out on the bed after getting back into the room at 10pm.
Here are my top 10 CES picks for the 2nd and 3rd days:
• AfterShokz Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones. Still amazed by these headphones. They do not fit into or cover the ears. Sounded great when I tried them on at the booth. I’ll have a review on these headphones up in a few days.
• LEGO Education WeDo 2.0. Wireless, tablet-ready robot-based learning system that combines engineering, technology and coding, using LEGO bricks, into the elementary science curriculum. For something that has been around for over 30 years, I had never heard of this part of LEGO brand.
• Segway Ninebot. Seems safer than a hoverboard and I’ve never heard about a a Segway product exploding. Leansteer with your legs using the telescoping handle, can be controlled remotely using app and speed tops at 11 mph.
• Casio Smart Outdoor Watch and Exilim. This smart watch is great if you are an outdoor enthusiast since it features tools for trekking, cycling and fishing. Built to withstand the elements. Comes in 4 different colors. Works with the Exlim, although I was told there are no plans for the Exilim to be sold in the U.S.
• Girl Scouts Digital Cookie 2.0 and STEM. I’m very impressed with the new version of the Digital Cookie the Girl Scouts have created. It’s a major upgrade from when I saw it last year at CES.
• Perfect Bake Pro, Perfect Drink Pro, Perfect Blend. Using the Smart scale and the interactive recipe app you can create the perfect meal or drink. Use in app recipes or your own, track nutritional content, build meal plans and shopping list. No need to use measuring cups or spoons.
• Griffin Travel Power Bank. This device is a travel charger and battery pack for the Apple Watch. There aren’t too many companies that have the actual use of the proprietary disc charger.
• Griffin BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable. This is great since Apple has stopped using the MagSafe technology on their MacBook. This was a key feature in which the power connector safely disconnects from the MacBook should someone trip over the cord.
• Sengled Pulse Flex, Snap and Voice. These LED light bulbs combine WiFi audio streaming, video and audio technology into one LED bulb. Pulse Flex can be used indoor/outdoor and stream through your wireless network. The Snap is a flood light with live streaming HD video camera. Voice integrates microphone/speaker into a combined unit for voice control and smartphone monitoring.
• Helix Cuff. This wearable technology merges fashion with function by combining a bluetooth headphone holder into a portable wrist cuff. Available in six colors.
A couple more stand out products to mention:
• EyeLock/Diebold ATM. I saw this reported on Good Morning America. It is an ATM that uses your eye instead of a card to access the machine. This is currently being tested on the East Coast by Citibank. Eye scanning technology is also being tested for use in automobiles too.
• Hercules WAE Outdoor Rush. Waterproof bluetooth speaker with built-in FM radio. Can be mounted on to bike or surfboard. Sound quality is great.
