D23 EXPO 2015: Disney Interactive Panel

Disney Interactive made quite a few announcements at D23, as they took the stage in Hall D23.

The games included 3 of their most anticipated upcoming titles: Kingdom Hearts 3, Star Wars Battlefront and Disney Infinity 3.0, along with the expansions sets/figures, mobile gaming and the interactive Playmation.

Kingdom Hearts 3

• All Keyblades in the game have different transformations.

• The characters from Big Hero 6 and San Fransokyo have been added to the game.

• Baymax made an appearance on stage during the presentation, much to the delight of the crowd in attendance.

Mobile Gaming

• Frozen Free Fall has been downloaded more times than the movie has been seen by people.

• Disney Magic Kingdoms – Build your own Disney theme park game

Star Wars Battle Pod

• Premium Edition will be available to consumers with choice of Rebel or Vader cabinets.

Playmation

• Iron Man and Hulk interactive Play Sets available.

• Unlock missions the more you play.

Star Wars Battlefront

• Battle of Jakku will be a free DLC on December 8.

• Pre-order the game and DLC will be playable a week earlier than it’s release date.

Limited Edition Star Wars Playstation 4

• Two bundles available on November 4th: Star Wars Battlefront or Disney Infinity 3.0.

• Custom 500GB PS4 with Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller inspired by Darth Vader.

• Features an image of Darth Vader on the case of the system.

• Includes download voucher for Star Wars Classics: Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

Disney Infinity 3.0

• New figures include:
– Marvel: Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron
– Star Wars: Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Yoda, Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Boba Fett
– Star Wars-Rebels: Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren and Zib Orrelios
– Disney: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, Mulan, Olaf, Sam Flynn and Quorra

• Peter Pan and characters from Zootopia and The Good Dinosaur will be joining the Disney Infinity figure lineup, along with Power Disc Packs.

• Marvel Battlegrounds, first four-player local co-op, has been announced as a brand new Play Set to launch Spring 2016.

• New unlockable items will be in the Toy Box for Disney Infinity 3.0, including the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse seen in the Disney Parks.

• The Ultimate Unlock prize was unveiled as the Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

• Coming this holiday season will be a set of limited edition Light FX Star Wars figures with Lightsabers that light up when placed on the the Disney Infinity Base.

• Two Star Wars Play Sets for Twilight of the Republic and Rise Against the Empire will be available, along with another based on the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie is being added to the Star Wars lineup.

• Figures of Rey and Finn were unveiled on stage, along with Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn) stars from the movie came out and gave away the figures of their characters to two lucky audience members.

• Kingdom Hearts King Mickey Limited Edition Power Disc (edition of 5000) and Mickey Mouse Disney Infinity 3.0 figure were handed out to all in attendance.

Still no announcement on when Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be released, but with the addition of Big Hero 6 to the game kinda makes up for it. I will have to get Disney Infinity 3.0 for Playstation 4, since Boba Fett is exclusive to that system. I love that they are incorporating Kingdom Hearts into Disney Infinity. Kingdom Hearts is one of my all-time favorite video game series. I may not have too much free time once Star Wars Battlefront comes out. The gameplay and graphics on it look amazing.

Disney Interactive Pavilion had a great setup on the show floor with demos of all the games discussed at the panel. Disney Infinity had a layout similar to their setup at E3 with game stations, interactive photo op area, Disney Infinity Artwork and archway displaying all the figures released so far.
