SHOUT has teamed up with Color Run (aka “Happiest 5K on the Planet”) for the second consecutive year to encourage participants to have fun and LIVE LIFE OUT LOUD!! We were invited to participate in the fun in Los Angeles, which turned out to be a fabulous, colorful day (no pun intended)! We’re happy to say that we were so incredibly messy that they ended up in our clean-up photo shoot! But, like kids, a greater mess equals greater FUN!
My fiancé Kerry and I had our game face on! Dressed in our SHOUT shirts and headbands, we joined the thousands of people arriving in their best outfits. From bright tutus, to afro wigs, from knee high socks of all different colors, to glitzy shades; well, we saw it all! But the one thing we all wore was the uniformed white shirt that became a canvas of bright colored powder; a rainbow on our very own horizon.
We started out with a light jog, but decided to just walk the rest of the way and take in the party! This has been our second time running this race in the past three years, and we really just wanted to be silly and enjoy it. We boogied to the loud music the DJs blared throughout the race, took a thousand selfies of ourselves and everything around us, and acted silly because we could! Once it was all over, it really felt like one giant messy cool kaleidoscope.
I highly encourage you to run The Color Run! It’s unique, and a fun family experience. I hope to do it all over again next year, but would love to share the fun with our 7 year old daughter this time! Lots of kids were running around just having the time of their lives, and perhaps we will see you and yours there!
Now I am at home and resting my tired self. Tomorrow will definitely be a SHOUT laundry kind of day.
Carmen was raised in New York city and now resides in Los Angeles with her daughter and fiancé. She works on a popular television show as a stand-in for the lead actress. She is working towards executive producing her own show.
