Disney has been a part of my life since I was a little girl! I first visited Disneyland when I was 5. After that my family spent countless vacations at Disney World. Disney is the place to leave your worries behind and be a kid over and over again with your family and friends. Since I started blogging 5 years ago, I’ve met a slew of ladies who share my affection for everything Disney. But one blogger in particular Jasmine from SoYouThinkYouCanMom.com really got my Disney Side. We bonded over Disney, our families, blogging, video games and food (not in any particular order). Therefore It only made sense to plan our #DisneySide party together and do what we what we do best, celebrate Disney!!
Planning a Disney party is super easy! Our #DisneySide theme was “Taste of Disney”. Everyone has a favorite Disney food. We highlighted popular foods from both Disneyland and California Adventure. Not only was this fun to plan but it was delicious. We also planned fun activities for our guests!
The Food
What are my favorites from the parks? California Adventure’s Boudin Sourdough Bread Bowl from Pacific Wharf CafĂ© is an absolute must. I can smell the bread now. Do you head directly to New Orleans square at Disneyland for Beignets from the Mint Julep Bar? We do! Yes, we featured both at our party along with our versions of Turkey Legs, Lemonade, Popcorn, Pizza and salads! YUM!
Our other food stations were in honor of recent and upcoming Disney movies. We came up with fun snack ideas that were awesome! (Yes, patting ourselves on the back) I was assigned to the Muppets Most Wanted and Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue stations. Animal is a monster drummer so how could we not include drumsticks (pretzels dipped in chocolate) and Fire & rescue is all about heat! Our chicken wings were scorchers but we offered water to cool off those taste buds. Jasmine focused on Frozen and Maleficent. Who is excited for the release of that Maleficent? WE ARE! How cute are the snow balls and Olafs bits? This award winning film deserves a standing “O” as well as our snack ideas. We had a blast getting creative with food and drink ideas!
Disney Activities!
Every party needs fun activities! You can’t have a Disney Side party without music. Our guests were treated to a Karaoke party and they were all rock stars.
Jasmine’s Disney Infinity arcade was perfect for the little gamers in our lives! Kids can grab their favorite Disney character and build their very own Toy Box.
Who doesn’t love a game of Bingo? We used Disney Infinity Characters as markers.
I loved helping design the t-shirt station. Kids can decorate a blank Hanes t-shirt with Crayola fabric markers. This is a great token from the party! What do you think of my Kermit the Frog drawing? Not too shabby!
Party Extras!
The little extras really go a long way when you’re party planning. I designed DisneySide Menus for our guests. I put together a colorful menu and then laminated the sheets. Viola! Your guests have a nice memento to take home. I also designed VIP badges for this special occasion! ‘m a graphic designer so this was a piece of cake for me but don’t be afraid of your design applications. Learn a new skill or polish up some old ones and get your artistic juices flowing. Oh, and use your Disney memorabilia as #DisneySide party decorations!
Hopefully we inspired you to show your Disney Side and celebrate at home with your favorite people! Visit http://www.disneysidecelebrations.com/ for more ideas and check out Jasmine’s #DisneySide post here for a list of all of foods we served. Oh, and don’t forget to tag your social media with #DisneySide. You might see your images www.disneyside.com, and make sure to take the DisneySide quiz. I did and I’ve discovered my “Timeless” DisneySide. I couldn’t agree more – Disney will always have a soft spot in my heart!
* Thanks to Disney Side @Home Celebration for sending party supplies to host my #DisneySide party!

Next time we go, we will have to definitely have to get a beignet from New Orleans Square. I love Boudin! Definitely going to have to try it at DCA. What a fun party showing your Disney Side, Tee!
