I’m not sure what I loved more as a kid, unwrapping a birthday gift or opening a pastel colored envelope with a greeting card inside of it! Even as a young girl I was aware of the prominent card companies. I actually wanted to be a greeting card designer “when I grew up”. Does this make me sound strange?? LOL. Hallmark cards always had pretty designs, witty greetings and featured adorable fuzzy kittens! I loved these special messages so much that I saved many of them. This is a picture of a few of my childhood favorites, mostly given to me by my mom and dad. Fast forward to 2013 and I am still collecting greeting cards. Guess some things never change!
Even though I love to receive cards, I truly enjoy spreading happiness to that special someone. On a recent shopping trip to Walmart, I stocked up on a bunch of cards for upcoming birthdays. Hallmark is still my go to card source. I’m very thankful for Walmart’s Value section. Cards can run as little as 49 cents here! That’s music to my budget shopper ears. My daughter has a TON of birthday parties coming up and card prices can add up!. I also picked up Halloween Cards and a Thinking of You card. BUT my #1 special someone this month is my daughter. She’s turning six! This birthday is a big deal for her, she feels like a big kid especially since she started 1st grade this year. The large selection of cards at Walmart means that there is a card for everyone. The card prices have gone up and I do admit that I make choices depending on price but my daughter is the one person that I don’t mind splurging on!
I narrowed down my selection to three cards. I need your opinion! Which card do you like?
1) My daughter loves Rapunzel. I can’t tell you how many times she’s watched Tangled. What I like about the card is that Rapunzel’s hair makes up the number six and the card has a neat paper lantern craft.
2) The Minnie card is adorable! I love the drawing, the colors and cute message. This card has flair and would be perfect for my “big kid”. The card comes with fingernail stickers as well.
3) “For a special daughter” is right on target. This card glitters, is girly and has the perfect message because I am definitely proud of her!
What do you think? Which birthday card is your favorite? Leave me a note in the comment box below.

The 2nd card with Minnie Mouse is adorable! I think she would like that one too! 🙂
Now this is a tough one!!! I Adore Rapunzel & Minnie Mouse! BUT…I would pick the Rapunzel card because of the BONUS Craft inside. LOVE THE HAIRY 6!!!!
Definitely Rapunzel!
This IS a tough choice!! They are all really cute! I would go with Rapunzel, especially since she really loves her. Also, I know my girls LOVE getting cards that have extra stuff in them, like the lantern in this one. The lanterns were one of my favorite parts of the movie so I think it would be really cool to be able to make my own. Do these cards come in double digits?? 🙂 Good luck with your choice!!
I like #3! The birdie is so cute and I love little girl cards that are a little more grown up 🙂
Awww these cards are so sweet and adorable. What a hard choice! I really like all 3 but I think #2 spoke to me the most! Happy pre-birthday to your little girl 😉
I have to say the Minnie one is my favorite for a 6 year old and nail stickers?!!! Doesn’t get any cooler than that card 🙂
I think Rapunzel!
I love them all!
I like the pink Rapunzel card.
Minnie!
I think the Rapunzel card is perfect because so many little girls love long hair. While card #s 2 & 3 are also sweet, I say stick with #1.
#3 for me. I love the message!
Minnie mouse!!
Hallmark always has a great selection of cards. I like the Rapunzel card.
Minnie… Definitely. So classic!
I would pick #1. I LOVE #3 but for a little girl who loves the movie I think that one is the most animated! Love the hairy 6 too! Hallmark has always been my go-to card brand as well. I can always find one that says just the right thing for the occasion. 🙂
(oh and I’ve been known to buy two if I can’t decide and to put them in secret places or give at different times of the day! 🙂
I can’t wait to see which one you choose!
