As the kids go back to school, don’t forget to keep them well stocked with some tech items that will keep them and their products safe and better organized! Our friends at The Joy Factory have suggested some Back to School tech essentials with all these things in mind.

StormCruiser case for iPhone for iPhone 4/4S $49.95
Concerned your student may get lost biking to and from school? Help them out with the StormCruiser…It’s a protective case for the iPhone that mounts to their handlebars or on their motorcycle. It’s also all-weather, and protects from water, dirt, oil or other liquids while maintaining full access to the touch screen functions. And best of all, it takes only a couple of minutes to set up and you can hit the road!
Bubble Shields $ 19.95
Take your portable electronics through rain, sleet and snow without the worry of damage. The Joy Factory has a size for anything from your iPhone to your iPad or Kindle and they are reusable, too!
Styluses $29.95
Taking notes and creating your next masterpiece is a lot easier with a stylus. These lightweight and stylish ones from The Joy Factory are perfect for any student or artist a like. They have two different styles and come in Charcoal (black), metallic green, pink, silver and more!
Duralink Apple 30 pin 4 foot cable $19.95
Dorm room set-ups can be unpredictable. Having a long cable like this one from the Joy Factory will make it easier to sync up from a far. I also like this for this for the kids when the iPhone or iPad is running low and the kids can use the devices while they are still charging from the backseat. They have a 6 foot model, too!
Zip Mini $49.95
We tested the Joy Factory’s Zip touch multi-charger back last year ((insert link)). They’ve recently come out with a smaller version, the Zip Mini Touch-n-go, perfect for you kid’s nightstand or dormitory desk. The short zip tails help minimize desktop clutter, as space will no doubt be at a premium!
Charge Times
With one ziptail:
iPhone charges from 50%-100% in 50 minutes.
iPad charges just over 2.5 hours to charge from 50% to 100%. Charging times do slow it down a bit when you charge multiple devices (iPad charged from 60% to 100% while simultaneously charging my iPhone took just over 3 hours). It can charge up to four devices at once, with micro-USB, mini-USB and Apple 30-pin zip tails. If your college kid doesn’t have four devices, I’m sure their roommate will be thankful for the extra charge!
The Zip Mini Touch-n-go is available in black (US) and white (international) and retails for $49.95 on Joy Factory’s website. It comes with one Apple 30- pin zip tail and one micro-USB zip tail. Additional are available for purchase on their website.
The Klick Desk Stand $59.95
