78th Golden Globe Awards
Thanks to COVID, awards season was postponed to a much later date. Don’t worry though, the respective guilds and groups are still going to recognize the best in TV and Film, despite the fact that the latter was mostly streaming content. Now the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced their nominations for the Golden Globes, which will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, on two different coasts.
David Fincher’s “Mank” leads with six nominations, and “The Trial of the Chicago 7” not too far behind with five awards. Other films include “Promising Young Woman” taking home four nominations, “Nomadland” earning three. Unfortunately, the HFPA snubbed Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods'” cast like Delroy Lindo and Chadwick Boseman, and director Spike Lee. It’s no better for “Minari,” an American film about the American dream being categorized as a foreign film.
The 78th Golden Globes Awards will take place virtually on Feburary 28, 2020, at 5 p.m. PT at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
