Summer is upon us, and here are some date ideas for couples looking for some fun in LA.

From summer coastal bites to spa vibes to sports fun and cinematic escapes, these are our recommendations for couples seeking to discover a new romantic spot in Southern California. Whether you’re just starting out or parents wanting alone time check out these spots!
Summer sounds and spa vibes
Casa Madera – This West Hollywood dining destination evokes the Riviera Maya in an immersive feast for the senses. With coastal Mexican cuisine and refreshing cocktails, Casa Madera curates a boho vibe for a romantic meal. Weekends offer up brunch too.
WiSpa – The mid-city Korean spa institution is perfect for couples wanting some self-care time. You can book massages, facials, and more pampering procedures during the service operating hours during the day. What’s so great about WiSpa is that it’s open 24 hours, and starting at around 40 bucks to enter, the general entry fee gives you access to the men’s or women’s level spa tubs that vary from hot to cold plunges with a selection of saunas in the separated locker rooms if you need just 20 minutes alone before meeting up with your significant other on the coed floor. There you can both enjoy the hot mineral saunas, but there’s also a cold lounge area if you run hot (I do!). The shared space also features dining and access to the roof for lounging about.

Tiki Bars – Tropical drinks abound all over the city with fun kitsch and charm. Over in Venice Beach there’s drinking, dining, and dancing at Belle’s Beach House. In WeHo we love The Lucky Tiki, a small hidden speakeasy above Tail o’ the Pup, the city’s iconic hot dog shack. Inside you can order from both Lucky Tiki’s menu and hot dogs. Burbank has The Broken Compass, which is a spacious foodie destination for groups and has an expansive Tiki Drink menu. In the South Bay Tiki Kai just opened up in Hermosa Beach, on the coast, for full tropical immersion, and we can’t wait to check it out.
Sports Central:
Sofi Stadium – This Summer Sofi Stadium in the South Bay is gearing up to host the FIFA World Cup 2026. To view the match schedule for a sporty date idea, visit here.

The LA home team will host key division rivals like the Padres, Rockies, and Diamondbacks during their major 10-game homestand leading into the All-Star break this summer.
33 Taps – For more laid-back game viewing from the comfort of a sports bar, we recommend 33 Taps. The West Hollywood location just opened up as a new hub to root for your teams at over their rotating selection of cold beers, cocktails, and meals from their scratch kitchen. It’s a dog-friendly spot too and features a menu of puppy bowls for your pawsome friend.
Top Golf – The LA location of Top Golf is just down the road from SofFi in El Segundo for some putting action. The 10-hole golf course is laid out over three levels for gaming and a sports bar vibe. Each hitting lane includes its own HDTV for other sports spectating if you so choose.
Cinematic Escapes

Recently my husband and I did a date night at The Matrix in shared reality which was a blast. The venue typically curates a menu at an additional charge themed to the film you’re watching, and it was so cool to get steak during the dinner scene and a cookie when the Oracle hands Neo one. Currently they’re celebrating 20 years of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in shared reality with Hogwarts-inspired food and house drinks.

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has two single screen houses in town: The New Beverly and The Vista in the Hollywood area, which pride themselves in playing movies on film with monthly curations. There’s also Vidiots in Northeast LA and the Gardena Cinema in the South Bay that highlight the most beloved stories filmmakers have brought to pop culture.
