What’s it like for a kid to walk a red carpet at a world premiere? If you ask my daughter, she’d say, “It’s really cool and you feel like you are famous!” We were recently invited Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok premiere and we were ready to embrace the Hollywood experience.
With the premiere at El Capitan Theater, Hollywood Blvd was completely shut down. The anticipation of arriving at the premiere can be overwhelming. The carpet is crowded as everyone tries to get a glimpse at celebrities while press photographers are furiously taking photos. The lights are bright. It’s warm. The air is filled with excitement. We are excited, anxious and ready to have fun!!
My daughter and I watched as Chris Helmsworth gave an interview across the carpet from us. My daughter looks for opportunities to take photos with stars from the movie. Sometimes she has a quick exchange with them. But you have to seize the moment because usually that’s all you have. It’s surreal to be surrounded by the biggest celebrities on the planet. It’s not every day you get to meet Chris Helmsworth, aka Thor, God of Thunder. Yes, that really happened! Or how about when you meet Happy from Spider-Man or when you meet Lou Ferrigno, the actor who played the Hulk in the TV series. Unreal!!
Every red carpet experience is unique. But you can always count on awesomeness at a premiere. At this movie, Comic Cave showcased their cool 14″ Go Big figurines. I think I need one of each character but if I have to pick a favorite, I would go with the Hulk.
My daughter knows she’s lucky and that most kids do not have the chance to attend a Hollywood premiere. She is inspired to write movies so she hopes one day she’ll be on the other side of the carpet answering questions and promoting her own films.
