Typically my skincare regime (heck, let’s just call it showering) is the first thing that gets skipped as I focus on getting my family of three children up, fed, cleaned and clothed. So I was excited to trial the Mama Mio skincare products and see whether maintaining a twice a day moisturizing treatment would create any noticeable effects. The idea of spending 5 minutes to myself with new beauty products makes me super happy.
My new Mama Mio morning and evening regime includes cleanser, moisturizer, bust & neck firmer, toning serum and body oil. It’s February in New York so the combination of the dry heat in my home and the frigid winds outside are drying my skin. After a week of using the Mama Mio products I feel like I looked more awake and my skin feels more moist and supple. Here is my product by product breakdown.
Clean Slate-Gentle Aloe-Rich Cleanser: This is one of my favorite Mama Mio products. I love the clean, refreshing scent and the tingling feeling on my skin. This cleanser uses a blend of 4 essential oil fragrances — Lavender, Lavandin, Chamomile and Mandarin. According to Mama Mio, Clean Slate is soap free, sodium laureth and lauryl sulphate free. Clean Slate is based on ecocertified coconut derived gentle cleansers blended with aloe vera leaf juice, pre+probiotics, moisturising omegas and firming proteins. Price is $32 for 5 fl.oz.
Mighty Moisture – Day & Night Moisturizer: It took this trial to get me to religiously apply moisturizer in the morning and before bed. Just one small pump and Mighty Moisture was rich enough to moisturize my entire face. Mighty Moisture Day & Night Moisturizer contains high percentages of everything every skin needs; peptides to fight sagging and wrinkles, firming proteins, vitamins, antioxidants, algae extracts, pre+probiotics, amino acids plus the powerful humectant, hyaluronic acid to keep skin juicy and hydrated. Great for all skin types. Price is $48 for 1.7 fl. oz.
Boob Tube Bust & Neck Firmer: Embarrassing name but I’m now a devotee to this product. Passing 40, nursing three children and a lack of sufficient sunscreen on my decolletage has taken a toll. This sweet smelling, ultra thick cream moisturizes an area I often forget to give more TLC. This is a new routine I hope to add to my repertoire. Here is Mama Mio’s explanation…because the skin in your entire bust and décolletage is very similar to the skin under your eyes – very thin, very delicate without a lot of inherent elasticity. Boob Tube is designed to help avoid the classic lifecycle of every boob – gorgeous young boob (perky), fast forward a million bounces to a slightly older boob (saggy). You want firm and pert, right? But it is not just about sag; it is about the quality and tone of your skin across your neck and chest. It is about feeling good in a Gap V-neck t-shirt forever. You want to avoid the common complaint of thin, dehydrated haggard skin on your decollete marred with creases. Price is $45 for 3.4 fl. oz.
Omega Body Oil: Every morning for the past week, I’ve eagerly reached for Mama Mio Omega oil that smells deliciously of a sweet mixture of citrus and almond. A couple of pumps of this oil on my legs and arms. The added bonus is no drying time necessary before I dress. I think this would be a great product for me to stick with this summer. Lighter than heavy moisturizers yet still keeps the flaky skin at bay. Ingredients include sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, argan oil, safflower seed oil and vitamin E. Price is $35 for 5 fl. oz.
Skin Tight Toning Serum: I’ve been following the directions closely but I’m skeptical of skin tightening or toning products. Nice theory but my belief is diet and exercise are the only ways I can combat the areas of my physique that I dress to distract. The product is easy to apply and I’m going to complete the suggested 6-8 weeks before I make my final opinion on this serum. Mama Mio says they have taken facial peel technology and applied it to the body. Its four stage action of exfoliation, skin tightening and massively nourishing moisturization will combat creepy, slack, tired skin – anywhere you need it. Price is $56 for 3.4 fl. oz.
That’s IT Mommy, Jill

Apart from eating these diets, you should also drink
a lot of water. Desperately want to get rid of the cellulite
on your thighs, or more commonly referred to
as your “cottage cheese thighs”.
