Tech Tuesday: GelaSkins Review

Not only did these look cool coming right out of the package but they were super easy to apply. I was very worried about those bubbles that you can never seem to get rid of when you apply any type of sticker or other adhesives. I applied and reapplied Sean’s Boombox II by Lyle Owerko GelaSkins to his 15.4″ laptop several times for proper alignment and not once did I have to smooth out any bubbles. GelaSkins uses an “easy on, easy off” adhesive technology created by 3M. Trust me, it WAS easy.

Now the graphic itself is amazing. Photo-realistic is the only way to describe the detail and wear and tear look of this old-school boom box graphic.  Sean loved this one as it looks almost exactly the way his boom box did after years of blasting 80’s hard rock and rap cassette tapes.  He can’t wait to show it off at school to his music students!

I got the Summer Oasis print for my iPhone by Sorsdahl. This graphic embodies bold colors and has a pseudo van Gogh feel to it. Like most art it is usually best to let it speak for itself. The artist Sorsdahl quietly creates vibrant masterpieces from his scenic home in Saskatchewan. The skin fit neatly on the back and sides of my phone. It has a slick feel but does not feel like it will slip from your hands. Not as tacky as some of the new iPhone skins and definitely nowhere as thick. My coworker initially thought that it was a hard case! Best used for avoiding scratches but not for protecting a fall. My purse is black and is an endless pit. GelaSkins makes my iPhone colorful and easy to find.

And that’s due to the unbelievable variety and creativity of each artist’s skins. Some of the artists featured include modern artists likes Camilla d’Errico, Luke Chueh and Keith Haring.
