Teagan loves books. She’s loved them since she was a few months old. Back then we’d turn the pages for her, point at the drawings or pictures and read the simple words. She’d stare at the pages and her movements and sounds expressed her excitement. Hands down The Rhyme & Discover Book by Vtech was her favorite. This hard plastic interactive book offers many features to teach infants. The buttons move and play a song when pushed. Teagan would squeal along with the nursery rhymes. She’s 27 months now and she still grabs for the Rhyme & Discovery book. A must have for all little ones aged 6 –36 months.
Everyone knows Maisy. Teagan can’t get enough of this loveable and popular mouse. Lucy Cousins is the author and illustrator of these fantastic books. We love the simple drawings, the story-lines and funny characters. Teagan’s favorites are Happy Birthday, Maisy because every day is a birthday and Maisy Big, Maisy Small, a large book on opposites. She likes to read this book to us and she has fun pointing out the colored spots, counting stripes and playing out different opposites. “Maisy fast! Maisy slllooowwww…”. There are numerous Maisy titles published by Candlewick Press. We plan on adding as many Maisy books as we can to our library. Another book we’d recommend is Sweet Dreams, Maisy. This little book is great to snuggle up with.
Another new favorite for Teagan is Melrose and Croc: Find a Smile by Emma Chichester Clark. The suggested age range is 5-7 but this is a great book for any age. Melrose and Croc are an exciting duo that set off to find Melrose’s smile. Adventures, laughter and friendship save the day. The two animals explore the country side and take the time to stop and smell the yellow flowers. Teagan takes a moment to smell them too. Does Melrose ever find his smile? Read it and see! I think our next Melrose and Croc book will be A Hero’s Birthday. Melrose is in danger! These books are published by HarperCollins.

My daughter loves Maisy! She is 9 months old and I have been reading Maisy books to her since she was 4 months old. She especially loves the little books that come in the book tower because she of the size as well as the simple drawings and words. I recently bought them for my one year old niece and she loves them as well.
I am going to have to buy the Maisy Big, Maisy Small and Sweet Dreams Maisy books. Thanks for the recommendation!
