Yes, that’s right. Snow right in the San Fernando Valley at the Fourth Annual Winter Family Festival. Bring your family to enjoy more than 70 tons of the fluffy white stuff without having to trek up the mountains and give back to the community for the holidays at the same time. This free event lets the kids (and grown-up kids alike) the opportunity to sled down two slides, make snowmen and even have a snowball fight (don’t forget their mittens), and so much more. It happens this Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Studio City Recreation Center (aka “Beeman Park”), 12621 Rye Street in Studio City, 91604.
In addition to the show, festival-goers will enjoy craft-making, face painting, musical performances by local school and community groups (and even The Tom Kenny Band – he’s the voice of SpongeBob), free photos with Santa shot by a professional photographer and free food from local restaurants offered as part of A Taste of the Holidays. Plus, there is an onsite Festival of Giving, which makes it easy to donate much-needed items to benefit community groups in a one-stop location, including new, unwrapped toys; canned and packaged food; new/gently used books; pet food and pet toys; and clothing and blankets. Donations benefit the LAPD North Hollywood Division Gift and Food Drive, St. Charles Service Center, Pet Orphans, Aviva Family & Children’s Services, and Iris Blossom Charities. Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing for tickets to Universal Studios, a Nescafe Dolce Gusto “Genio” machine, a BLVD Hotel stay and other prizes.
Free parking and a free shuttle to and from the event is located in the covered lot at CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City, 91604
