Netflix has released the final trailer for “Stranger Things 4.” The highly anticipated sci-fi series sees the return of Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbor, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Maya Hawke in an all-new adventure involving the strange world of the upside-down, which seems to be a lot bigger than originally thought. There will also be “Dungeons & Dragons,” some heavy metal, and a tease of Hopper (David Harbour) who seems to have survived the events of the Stranger Things season 3 finale.
Of course, since this is the final trailer before the season debut which launches on May 27, 2022, we aren’t going to get too many new teases. Still, it’s enough to whet the appetite and keep us interested with new stakes and increased dangers. Then there’s the lovely nostalgia factor that goes into the new season, along with a tease of the 80s horror genre that some of us grew up with. We are also getting new characters which will be played by Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Joseph Quinn.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for “Stranger Things 4:”
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
So, it should be interesting to see how much longer the Duffer Brothers’ creation can hold our interests. The show has tried to evolve and stay fresh by paying homage to certain film genres and nostalgia. While that has been fun to see, it seems like Netflix’s longest running shows is nearing its end. Let’s just hope the Duffer Brothers have something that will satisfy the fans.
Stranger Things 4 is being split into two parts, with Volume 1 releasing on May 27, 2022 and volume 2 coming out on July 1, 2022.
