Are you dreaming about your next family getaway? Do you need inspiration on where to go? I suggest attending the 15th annual Los Angeles Times Travel show this weekend. Attendees will receive tips and information from travel experts on where to go and what to see as well as experience fun activities! The travel show is held at the LA Convention Center on Feb 23 and 24th and tickets are available now!
A few must sees!
- Kids will love to see the Wildlife Experience’s WILD World exotic animal show (11-11:45 a.m. both days). Make sure to stop by the Wildlife Experience exhibitor booth as well to learn about their non-profit foundation and gather information about their Uganda Safaris program. A safari is definitely one of my dream vacations! I would love to visit the wildlife in the rain forests and unique regions of Africa.
- Hear L.A. Times Travel Journalist Christopher Reynolds, and L.A. Times travel Editor Catharine Hamm talk about the SoCal Closes-Ups guide (2-2:45 p.m. both days). California is filled with hidden gems. I’d also suggest stopping by the More For Your Money: Budget Tips For Savvy Travelers (11:15 a.m.-12:14 p.m. both days). panel moderated by Catharine Hamm. Families need to get the most for their money.
- There will also be celebrity guests speaking abut their personal travel experiences. I’m particularly interested in hearing Andrew McCarthy speak (Sunday schedule). You might remember him from movies Pretty In Pink and Weekend At Bernies. He’s now a editor for National Geographic Traveler magazine and In 2010, he was named “Travel Journalist of the Year” by The Society of American Travel Writers. Families can also experience zip lining and rock climbing at the show. Attendees can also enjoy a cooking demonstrations! Yum!
