Everyday can be a vacation with Playmobil’s new line of summer toys. We’re new to Playmobil toys therefore we jumped at the chance to test out their new Vacation Summer House (4857). The set’s family is dressed for fun warm days and is ready for bicycling, BBQs and relaxation. My daughter was excited to start playing!
Unfortunately, the start playing part took sometime. My husband usually has the task of assembling toys but he was out of town. I opened the box and my jaw dropped. There were tons of pieces. 323 to be exact and many are itty-bitty. Assembly took me at least 40 minutes. There is a tool to help snap the parts together, which needs firm pressure. My 4 year old helped with applying stickers and putting together the vegetation. Older children could get involved in assembly, which would speed up the process. This set is for kids 4 and up. I highly recommend putting the smaller pieces away in a zip lock bag or container to avoid losing them and to avoid younger siblings choking on them.

The Summer House has two floors. There is a dining area, bathroom, loft/bedroom and front porch area. The small accessories really make the set fun to explore. No detail was spared. I find the toothbrushes and removable flip-flops super cute. Teagan plays with this set every day. She loves putting the family to sleep. This set paired with a kid’s imagination makes the perfect combination for creative summer play.
Compliment this set with other sets that are available in the Playmobil vacation line. With the Pool with Waterslide (4858), Family Motorhome (4859), Family Speedboat (4862) you can build a summer community or use as stand alone toys. I’d like to get Teagan the Pool with Waterslide. Water definitely completes the summer experience! What you see on the box is the actual size of the home. The Summer House actually doesn’t take much room and would be the perfect toy for your kids to enjoy while you’re vacationing at the beach house. Pack it up along with the board games.

My children adore Playmobil toys! we have a lot of the western/indian themed people and we just got the pool with the slide and working shower…so much fun and creativity can come out of just one toy 🙂
