Check out the newest way I’ve discovered to make meal times more fun in our house. Georgie Porgie makes these amazing kids’ plates inspired by the Golden Age of children’s illustrations. Introducing my kids to the food pyramid wasn’t half as exciting as letting them fill their own plates using the rainbow portions graphics. Each Rainbow Portions plate is divided into the three simple categories – fruits & vegetables, grains and proteins – with sample food graphics that help my children balance their meals.
I must admit these Georgie Porgie Rainbow Portions plates are a great reminder for me too. As I fill their dinner plates I am instantly reminded when the grain area is overflowing and the protein and fruit & veggie areas need to be supplemented a bit to balance out all the portions.
I love how the folks at Georgie Porgie have managed to make a nutrition lesson so much fun and beautiful. We love setting our dinner table now, and can’t wait to show them off to guests.
The Rainbow Portion 9 inch plate sells for $18. Made of melamine, this plate can go in the dishwasher, but not the microwave. Made in USA, it’s lead, BPA and phthalate free and CPSIA compliant.
Georgie Porgie products aim to foster exploration and encourage children to unplug and participate in fun activities intended to develop their imaginations, social skills and ability to make healthy choices for themselves.
In addition to the plates, you can also shop for “Eat a Rainbow” placements for $15. They also feature a cute “Manners” line of products. My favorite is this great placement showing kids how to set a proper table.
The folks at Georgie Porgie have given us two “Eat a Rainbow” place mats for one lucky TIM follower! Enter our giveaway.
Order online this week and you can get a 10% discount on the portion plate and rainbow mat. Just use the save10 code.
That’s IT Mommy Jill
