It goes without saying that COVID-19 has changed the way we watch our films and TV shows. Despite all the wealth of content that exists on Disney+, the studio has postponed releases for films like “Raya And The Last Dragon.” It’s one of our most anticipated films on the site because of its South East Asian representation. And now, you can see tthe film in two ways. That’s because during Disney Investor Day, the studio announced that you can watch it either in a theater or from the comfort and safety of your home with Premiere Access.
As the world is still in the midst of a pandemic, and the vaccine distribution is still unclear, Disney saw it fit to do this simultaneous release which mirrors WB’s approach to releasing Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters and on streaming – at no charge – on the same day. However, Disney+ will be charging the Premiere Access price to see it on the same day. Otherwise, you will have to wait for it to premiere on Disney+ for free on a later date. Here’s the official tweet.
