SANRIO is turning 50 this year! What a milestone for this iconic company. As a young girl, Hello Kitty and Keroppi were two of my favorite SANRIO characters. I’m excited that SANRIO is still flourishing and that my daughter can enjoy the same characters from when I was a kid!
Sintaro Tsuji founded SANRIO in Japan in the 1960’s. Tsuji’s simple dream of bringing smiles to people’s faces grew into the brand’s “small gift, big smile” philosophy. SANRIO products definitely make me smile!
SANRIO has a die-hard fan base. I witnessed that first hand when I attended Hello Kitty’s 35th birthday bash last year. I could not BELIEVE the enormous crowds of people that turned up to celebrate the famous cat’s birthday. I bet you wonder what festivities SANRIO has planned for their 50th anniversary! Well…
Stay tuned to ThatsItMommy for upcoming news on SANRIO in-store celebrations, contests and giveaways! SANRIO will host a series of events across the country. Also, SANRIO is unveiling special co-branded collection this summer starting with SANRIO & Dr. Martens! Plus other collaborations with brands such as Brunswick, Mimobots and Build-A-Bear Workshop. I can’t wait!

I LOVE HELLO KITTY! 🙂 I always did when I was younger. My mom got my oldest daughter a Hello Kitty digital camera a couple of Christmases ago… she adored it!

Wow! 50 Years! That is so amazing. Like you, I also smile at the adorable face of Hello Kitty. I began buying Hello Kitty items for my daughter when she was a little girl and now she has her own 2 little girls (an almost 5 yr old & little 2 mo. old baby). A while back I think I heard a rumor that Sanrio was going out of business. Well, I’m thrilled that they’re still going strong. My almost 5 yr old granddaughter has tees, pjs, jeans, plush toy, backpack, hat and on and on of Hello Kitty items. We LOVE Hello Kitty!
