That’s IT Mommy are huge Disney fans. We love all the characters and movies. However we absolutely love the new Disney-branded film label Disneynature. You may be familiar with Disneynatures first 3 releases- “Earth,” “Oceans” and “African Cats”- that are now among the top highest grossing nature films of all time.
Nature films give the viewer a chance to set their eyes on places that most of us will never see in real-life. Disneynature’s amazing team of filmmakers once again give us a chance, this time traveling deep into the forests of Africa with “Chimpanzee”. Not only do we get to witness an amazing far off place, we also witness the amazing, entertaining and loveable life of Oscar and his chimpanzee family. Adorable only begins to describe the characteristics of Oscar. Extraordinary only begins to describe his family’s bond and adventures. We were deeply moved and entertained by both the playful nature, interesting personalities and deep connections these animals exhibit. We were also moved by the unlikely situation that arose after a conflict with a rival gang of chimps. These amazing creatures showed intelligence and teamwork that we did not know existed at this level.
All of this amazing action was captured by Disneynature’s High Definition cameras that really brought out the subtle beauty that is hidden in the complex territory of the African forest. You will be impressed with the detail and depth of this fantastic film. The whole experience is truly remarkable. Also, Tim Allen does one of the best narratives in a film that we have ever heard. His comedic prowess accentuated and enlightened this wonderful movie. Allen also helped to provide an air of suspense especially during the scenes depicting the conflict that arose leaving Oscar in his unique situation.
Disneynature does a supreme job of keeping this totally family friendly, avoiding any graphic depictions of the real life violence and tragedy that can happen in nature. My family highly recommends “Chimpanzee”. An added bonus was catching our screening at Disney’s El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. The theater presented wildlife experts from The Wildlife Learning Center who showcased exotic animals from around the world. A wonderful addition to this fascinating movie experience!
A portion of the film’s opening week proceeds will be donated to the Jane Goodall Institute for the “See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees” program to help protect chimpanzees and their habitats.
