Earlier this year, Marvel Studios took a surprising step away from the generic superhero formula to deliver something profoundly different. Chloe Zhao’s Eternals represents what could happen with auteur take but still remain within the MCU realm. But for those who decided to not see the ensemble film in theaters, the latest chapter arrives on digital and physical home entertainment on November 12, and February 15, 2022.
Directed by Zhao, who uses a script written by herself, Patrick Burleigh and Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo, Eternals ollows a group of ancient heroes from beyond the stars who had protected Earth since the dawn of man. When monstrous creatures called Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again.
The outstanding ensemble cast includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikkaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, with Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
