License to Ill is one of my all-time favorite CD’s. The lyrics take me back to Junior High, when I first became a Beastie Boys fan. When I came across Stardust’s Beastie Baby long-john pajamas, it was something I had to have for my little guy.
Brendan is 32” and 21 pounds and wearing a Stardust size 1-2 Year. The sleeves and pants are just slightly long, so he has some room to grow. The pants are slightly tapered, though, so he’s unlikely to trip on them even though it’s a little big for him at the moment. One of the features I love is the snap closure at the neck, making for easy outfit changes. A cool fact about the stripes-they’re created from ‘knitting’ the yarns. They retail for around $40 (£25.00) and also come in white and black stripes.
Although I never played Space Invaders on the Atari growing up, I had plenty of exposure to it from my older brother and cousins. My husband definitely remembers this game very well, too. When he saw Kieran in Stardust’s Space Invaders-inspired Jolly Invaders skater dress, a smile spread across his face. He was always into video games growing up. Did I say was? I guess some things you never outgrow.
Kieran is 44” tall and 38 pounds in this picture in a size 5-6. This is slightly large on her. We still have the size 3-4 year dress we reviewed last year, and it’s getting a little small (or should I say, short), so she seems to be between sizes right now. I love the hot pink dress with lime green graphics. The skull and cross-bones near the left shoulder are the perfect finishing touch. This dress retails for around $35 (£22.00) and is also available in orange and light blue -perfect colors for summer!
I always have so much fun browsing their site. Here are a few other retro-inspired clothing options I came across for your little ones:
Stardust never fails to impress me with their high quality clothes. The cotton on both items is heavyweight and doesn’t shrink in the wash. When we reviewed their My Dad Rocks dress last year, I was equally impressed (to read it, click here). Kieran still wears it all the time and both the fabric and the graphic has held up amazingly well, despite dozens of washes (or more!).
Stardust Kids is one of my favorite kids’ clothing company and hails from the UK. They have several retro-inspired designs for boys and girls. They have been making baby and kids clothes since 1998 out of their London workshop. Their full line available on their website or you can view a limited line in their Etsy store. Inspired by popular culture iconography, punk rock and a splash of kitsch, they aim to add a sprinkling of pizzazz and panache to young families everywhere.
