For hip girls. Anytime. Everywhere.
Luna Leggings, an Oakland, CA-based company, designs and manufactures beautiful organic tights and leggings for little girls ages 0-8 years old. Inspired by nature, the tights feature trees, vines, owls, butterflies, carrots and blueberries, using vivid colors and large graphics.
My five year old has a wild imagination – a superhero girl that runs fast, lived a past life in Asia & loves anything with rainbows. I love finding clothing that she can wear to school, make her smile and express her interests. And the quality also makes me happy!
We tried Luna Leggings footed tights in size 3 (4-5 year olds) with the Night Owl pattern. Since my daughter is a tall 5 year old (46 inches) I was apprehensive when I saw the size, but the fit was perfect. She loves the design of a tree trunk growing from her feet all the way up her legs. I like the vivid green, white and hot pink colors and the abstract design.
Luna Leggings is a company that puts a lot of thought into their product and the way they do business. They acquire cotton from a organic farm in Northern India and use recycled packaging and paper products, soy-based inks, and minimize waste whenever possible.
Luna Leggings also donates 10% of profits to the Edible Schoolyard Project (formerly Chez Panisse Foundation). Edible Schoolyard involves middle school students in all aspects of farming a 1-acre organic garden and preparing, serving, and eating food as a means of awakening their senses and encouraging awareness and appreciation of the values of nourishment, community, and the land.
Alongside their on-the-ground program, they are creating a nation-wide online community to gather lessons and best practices from garden, kitchen, classroom and school lunch programs across the country, with the goal of building and sharing a curriculum based around food that is accessible to everyone.
Luna Leggings come in three styles – footless tights for $29, footed tights for $29 and tights with a connected tutu for $36. To purchase visit http://www.lunaleggings.com/store/
