Those who have had a difficult time obtaining tickets to Hamilton on Broadway with the original cast recognize that the struggle is very real. Though the show has now dispersed to major cities around the nation, tickets are still very hard to come by and you won’t find a shortage of people who are disappointed that they cannot experience the phenomena for themselves. Still, if you are one of the lucky ones, then no one would blame you for expressing joy. However, the show has yet to hit Los Angeles, and with the announcement that the show will play the Pantages starting in August and running until December, you’d better believe that anxious fans will be waiting at the door to purchase their tickets.
But for those who have American Express cards, they will be able to jump to the front of the line. Well sort of. While tickets will go on sale starting April 30th at 10 AM, American Express cardholders will able to purchase pre-sale tickets on April 19th at 10am. That’s a full 11 days ahead of the actual sale date.
There are a few caveats, though. There is a maximum purchase limit of 6 tickets per household for the engagement. Ticket prices can range from $85 – $225 with a select number of premium seats available for all performances and increased pricing during the holidays. There will also be a lottery for 40 (40) $10 Orchestra seats for all performances.
“It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can. There are many sites and people that are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases should be made through an authorized Hollywood Pantages Theatre ticket source: either the Hollywood Pantages Theatre box office, or Ticketmaster.com,” said producer Jeffrey Sellers.
I don’t need to tell you how this is exciting news for the city of Los Angeles. While there have been a number of Broadway shows that have made it across to the west coast, very few have been as popular as Hamilton.
